Environmental Graduates in Himalaya, has a long tradition of marking important days in regard with environment and conservation. ‘National Science day 2016’ was celebrated on 19th September by organizing a talk program with panel discussion. The program started with the welcome note and program introduction by Ms. Rasmi Kunwar, EGH coordinator. The former minister of Science, technology and environment, Mr Ganesh Shah notified the audiences about the significance of marking national science day and emphasized on science based human knowledge. The lead presenter of the event, Dr. Rajan Suwal started his presentation entitled as ‘Aftermath Earthquake Reconstruction: Addressing heritage and environment’. As panelists, Dr Rashila Deshar (Environmental sector) and Mr Niraj Tamrakar (Heritage sector) expressed their end of discussions throughout the audiences. The interaction round went very well due to enthusiastic and active participants, altogether 31 with the issues of earthquake reconstructions, need of EIA, land forms etc.. The program ended with the closing remarks and vote of thanks by Dr Dinesh Raj Bhuju, Board Member, Resources Himalaya Foundation.
